The practice of Mindfulness, as pioneered by John Kabat-Zinn, is the implementation of skills to increase awareness of resources in each moment. This practice, which was initially geared towards reducing the sensation of pain in patients, has been increasingly studied, applied and recommended to reduce and array of symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, stress and ADD, that challenge daily functioning.
Trauma Informed Yoga and Movement is the practice of thousand year old Yogic and Buddhists practices that have been designed to increase nervous system regulation through their practice. I am certified in Kundalini Yoga and Trauma Informed Yoga for Mental Health at the 200hr level. These practices and tools are communicated and engaged in a way that facilitates feelings of safety, containment and mindful self empowerment.
