Finding the tools that ease our burdens and allow us a wider perspective of ourselves.

EMDR

I’m US licensed and certified in EMDR, as well as in Clinical Hypnotherapy and other mind/body approaches such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and TRM (Trauma Resiliency model), IFS (Internal Family Systems Therapy) and CFT (Compassion Focused Therapy), which are beneficial in creating a more balanced and resourceful approach to challenges which may be affecting us.

EMDR, Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing is a technique which utilizes structure protocols eye movement practices and other bilateral stimulation techniques, developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980's. It has been extensively studied and applied to cases of trauma, phobias, fears and other losses in a person's life. It is highly effective in processing memories, sensations, feelings, negative cognitions and responses to traumatic experiences which are at the core of much distress in a person's life. I have recently completed a Masters in Psychotherapy with EMDR with UNED and already feel that it has added experiential and practical knowledge of this great tool.

In its decades long applications it has been found to create opportunities to access new perspectives and resolutions, bringing relief and transformation to the damaging effects of trauma and other life constricting issues. Emotional Freedom Technique and Trauma Resiliency Model are other effective 'bottom-up' mind/body psychotherapeutic tools that facilitate the processing of traumatic memories and symptomatology in an invitational and gentle experiential ways.
